Basic BMT Information

Where It Happens
The 737th Training Group, at Lackland Air Force Base,  San Antonio, Texas.

You will join over 35,000 new recruits at Lackland. Basic Military Training for recruits entering before November 1, 2008, lasts approximately 6 1/2 weeks. Training for recruits entering on or after November 1, 2008, lasts approximately 8 1/2 weeks.

How You’ll Get There
Usually, recruits arrive at Lackland on a commercial airline flight to San Antonio. Typically, this trip will be taken with other members of your Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS).
